Very nice. I've heard of folks using 3D plastic printers to make master patterns to make the sand molds. Got any buddies there who do 3D printing?

This is one of those things that is on my long "to do" list. A small "gingery mill" would be a nice project. When you can cast your own stuff and then machine it the possibilities are amazing.

Do watch out, though, Mark! I don't know where you're doing this, but if you're doing it for other people and you burn your house down, your home insurance won't cover it. This is the reason I pay $220/month for my fab insurance. Also, the people that do my fab insurance wanted to know that I was NOT doing any kind of melting metal (other than welding and cutting), or they wouldn't cover me at all. I have no idea what real insurance for in-your-garage foundry would run you, IF you could get anybody to cover it. What you've posted right here is enough that if you had something happen, your homeowners insurance could say that you are doing it as a business, and it isn't covered.
