It may not be a real issue, but I figured since they are the prototype, i needed to point it out. My stockers were dented pretty good from the endlinks as well.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

I made some artificial flex and took some pics. I ran out of jack before I could get to my bumpstop... but hopefully this helps.

My arm goes way past both the tab and the endlink... so you're definitely going to limit your travel when those arms make contact with either.

Thank you sir. that may have been the limiting factor of flex on my driveway/rock pics then. Something will need done. What do you think grinding off that tab will do?

There's a weld on that tab which tells me it's there for a reason. I guess you could grind it off and try...

You know I'm not sold on the idea of relocating rearward quite yet. But seeing what the problems you've run into... would a 1" relocation bracket setup make more sense than longer arms? It'd get you past that tab without grinding and give you a bit more angle before you bump into the endlinks...

Just a thought.

The upper control arm is much less beefy stock - which means there's probably less stress on it. Noone's broken it yet when off road.

So can we use a smaller diameter bar for the top, and offset the rod to the top-half of the bushing - tangent to the top of the bushing?

English Translation: Use 1" DOM and make it look like the stocker. :)

I agree. it seems that any fully round bar would be stronger than the glorified sheet metal the factory unit is. Seems easiest to use a smaller bar and avoid modifying the truck.

What does offsetting the attachment like that gain us though? I'd think a side offset to avoid the tab altogether would be better.

Both methods would serve to get the arm away from the tab and the end link. All depends on what's easiest for Gotrice.

:Iagree: Looking at the stock arm, it seems to be offset and welded at a slight angle.

Kyle is taking some measurements tonight.

The new plan is to use 1.25"x.120 wall DOM tubing and offset it away from the lip and the endlinks. Doing this should gain about .5" of clearance which should be plenty.

I have the ebrake cable ziptied, but the bolt could probably go back in without issue. The rest that looks tight is not super tight, but some brackets would be simple to make if you would feel safer. I figure the plastic tab will break before the lines.

JUst to make sure there isn't any future problems, I'm gonna make the uppers out of smaller diameter tubing and offset the frame mount.

What should be bought first???

These bad ass new rear control arms? or an adjustable panhard bar?

I currently only have the z71 tahoe springs and shocks in the back, and a 1.5" (i think, could be a 1.25'') smaxx spacer.

Depends on what you're trying to correct... fore/aft wheel centering - or left/right axle centering.

I got both. I do appreciate the work to get the control arms done quick and letting me help get these dialed in. Will be great to have the tire centered.

I dont have a major issue wilth either symptom of lifting our trucks. I just figured, once the cash comes in, I should get things as perfect as possible....along with replacing the weak stock parks with something more beefy.

Then the weakest stock link is the lower control arms... many of us have already bent theirs.
