A couple interesting things about this one...

There are holes in the bumper where the center section tubes meet, so the wires are run into the tubes and down into the back side of the bumper.








Also, I didn't like the way the larger inside angle hit so sharp, so I stacked up some welds and blended them all together for a much larger radius. For these, I pushed the gun, instead of pulling it, so the welds were flatter and easier to blend into a larger, smoother radius with fewer beads.



Yeah, it was exactly how he wanted it, in the end... He originally wanted his brush guard center section from the other bumper put on this one, but I talked him into the tube guard, and he said in the end that he was glad he let me talk him into it, because it looks awesome!

How difficult would it be to make a non-body lift one of these, without the grill guard? Possible to do without the vehicle present?

Without "A" vehicle present, I wouldn't want to try... It's actually sort of doable if I position it 3" high on Matt's and make it like that, then take it off and move the mounts up 3" on the bumper; but that's a whole lot of guessing on a $500 (+ ~$180 shipping to WA) bumper to hope it fits right when it gets there...

I have a buddy in Nebraska that has a welding shop and does some custom bumper fabs on my grandparents farm. I'm sure he, nor I would have the time to work out the design, but if the bumper was done, I'll bet he could figure out the mounts. Good chance I will be there this fall or winter. Might cut down on shipping also... Would that be something workable for you?

If I did this, I'd be in the market for the radiator/oil pan skids as well...

Yeah, something like that is workable... The more I think about it, the more I think it's doable, even without any custom work on your end...

I think I'd still want everything shipped to NE and just have my buddy help with all the mounting. I'd probably have some rock sliders sent there as well and get it all done in one shot! What time frame/notice would you need to get it built and shipped? I'm possibly looking at archery deer season there around the first of November...

Also, did Matt's Envoy not have the turning lights in the bumper? I think I'd probably want those and fogs, similar to my stock bumper (pic below), as well as D-loops. Unsure on the receiver...

Not sure if you can see this video or not, but THIS is why I make my shackle mounts out of 1"x3" bar stock, welded front and rear, with as much behind the bumper (welded to the upper mount) as in front of it... Side extractions such as this!

First of all - what happened to get the envoy into that situation?
Second, what were the recovery options? What were potential problems with this recovery method, etc.
