Thanks, Steve! I sent you a picture of the brush guard welded onto your bumper... Or at least started... Still need to hack off the bottom part of it...

Thanks!

Looks awesome, can't wait for my bumper to finally take shape...

What size tubing did you guys use for that deer catcher? I got some inch and a quarter for my bumper...wondering if you have something about the same size.

Thanks!

The main hoop is 1.75 x .120 HREW tubing, and the support pieces in the rear are 1.25" dia...

Hmmm I may have to make a trip back to home depot to make a return and get some larger tube...The 1.75 looks wide in person, but when I see it on the Kyle's bumper, it seems to be the perfect size...

It really is a good size for this, IMO...

FWIW, I know you're using mechanical pipe, so I'll tell you that tube is measured in OD and pipe is measured in ID... So 1.75" pipe is more like 2" tube...

Cool! Let me know when it is ready and I'll come to pick it up. Then we'll need to plan a trip to the Badlands. :woot:

Good to know lol, perhaps some 1.5 will do the trick. I'll take a run over to home depot today after i get my tires rotated...

Depends on the "schedule"... Schedule 40 will be a smaller diameter than Schedule 80... You'll just have to measure ODs of the stuff you're looking at using...

The A53E pipe I've used from my local Home Depot is approximately .133 wall. So 1.5ID should net you just over 1.75OD.

That is what I ended up getting. I like the size, it should work perfectly for my plan/ideas.

Ha! Finally got After 6 hours of head scratching, squinting, and holding my mouth just right, the first 3" body lift standard bumper brush guard is complete! It really came out better than I could have hoped! (never mind the tape measure sitting on the 2" receiver)

You've got a computer helping design that multi-bend light hoop? Very artistic!

eh... Yes and no... The main corner bend was the computer (Bend Tech Pro) telling me how long it had to be and where to do the bend... From the main bend, we tried to figure out how to get some room to the headlight from the tube... I designed the bumper to be close to the headlights for the best tight turning radius, but hadn't anticipated doing the tube thing to them... I had thought about just cutting the tube at a 70 degree angle, and cutting off the end, and sort of mitering a small transition piece in... I figured if I was going to miter something in, I might as well try and do a bend there, to at least make the cut angle doable... So we held it up there and marked the direction, then headed back into the garage and put like a 30 degree bend on the tube (until the die started to dig into the previous bend)... Turned out to be just enough...

looks really good Mike. Of course there never was any doubt that it would turn out great.
