Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Need help narrowing down an issue

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

So my 05 ext lt 4wd shut down while at a stop light. The dash read "low oil pressure" as it was shutting down. The oil level is good and It started right back up with no issues after that. Anything I should be looking at specifically? I know that the ignition switches go bad and the spark plug could can also be an issue. However, I'm not showing a check engine light or any codes. Have any of you had any experience with this type of random issue?

Did your dash clock reset to 12:00? If so, check all ground cables.

When was the last time you cleaned the throttle body?

The clock never reset. After doing some digging around, it looks like his may be an unfortunate common issue that pops up from time to time. I will be cleaning out the throttle body though.

I agree with Diacom. Mine use to almost stall out when I'd come to a stop. I clean mine pretty often seems to keep my tb happy

Cleaning the TB is always good to do. Pull fuses 10 & 28 to reset the pcm. However I believe the issue is with the oil pressure sensor which on these is really just switch. The oil gauge is a fake signal sent by the pcm. The sensor is up by the oil filter. Most likely you will have oil in the plug so clean it out. Let us know how it goes. :mechanic:
