Winch

I would like to purchase a winch for my 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LT. Anybody care to share their experience with Warn Winch? They are currently on sale and I am really tempted to place an order. Please help.

Warn is top of the line. Never ran one though, too much cash for me.

Which Warn winch? They've got top of the line USA made (or rather "assembled in the US from China and US parts" ones, as well as their "M" line (M8000, M12000) that's China made like everybody else.

I would never call any of the Warn top-of-line but rather overpriced on every level. I would never pay the premium they add for that name when plenty of others are as good or better for less in any budget.

I just went to harbor freight, thing is pretty tough, been ripping tree stumps and bushes up with it easily.

I went with a Superwinch Tiger Shark 13,500lb.

If some is good, more is better.

On my full size years ago I had a USA Warn 9K winch. It was a great product, but after living on the front of the truck for a couple years, it got some water intrusion. Warn immediately sent me parts for free, no questions asked, to fix it. Everything else was built well, and customer service was second to none, but you will pay for it!! $$$$

I now have a 12K Harbor Freight winch for the TB and have used it a handful of times to drag my 6000lb rig out of a few very sticky situations. I would say this winch performs just as well as my warn did. I'm sure it's not built as well as that old warn was, but for the amount of times I use it, I'm sure this HF one will last me.

Personally, my opinion is that unless you plan to use it a lot, I would save your money and go HF.

Mine has had similar warranty and customer service from Truck and Winch. My controller was acting sticky on the button and boom, new one sent. I said the gears seemed to be louder after a couple years and they sent me a spare set. Can't beat service like that. I figure the gears with wait til actually needed and it is nice to have two remotes since I took the other apart and got it fixed up.
