Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Trailblazer VS Corolla

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Seems like the cool thing for ORTB members to do lately is to get into an accident. I felt left out, I suppose.

Stopped in low visibility, snow flurry conditions. 18 yr old kid doesn't know to slow down early, I guess. Anyways, his Toyota challenged MDB Fab to a thumb war.
His car, pretty much destroyed. Mine... bent the upper part of my tire carrier, bent my tailgate, tore my trasharoo open, and I have a busted caliper mounting bracket and right rear rim.
No injuries and the other guys insurance accepted liability. So no deductible, couple grand in my pocket, and a rental car (Jeep Patriot :puker: )
Got the parts I need to make it driveable again on order! No frame or axle damage! Tire carrier is still somewhat useable.

OK. DO NOT CASH THE CHECK until you're happy with the number!! "The other guy's insurance" will often have some fine print somewhere on the check or the paper attached to it that cashing this check means you agree to the number and that's all you get. My Dad's good friend got that done to him several years ago. Other guy's insurance sent him a really f-ing low-ball check, then when he called them, the guy said "yeah, it's cool, we'll get you the rest. Just go ahead and cash that check to get repairs started, and we'll send you the remainder." Remainder hadn't showed up, and he called back. Guy was like "Sorry, the fine print... yadda-yaddas in cocksucker..." Dad's buddy got screwed.

Yea, the dude explained that to me after he evaluated my truck. Seems like a really good insurance company. From adjuster to claim handler, I've really enjoyed dealing with them.
Thanks for the heads up

Any update Bacon? I hope you're getting everything sorted out. That really sucks, especially when you basically live out of your truck (assuming you're still camping daily?).

Time to get a custom rear bumper I think. ;)

Yea, I got my truck back up and running. Got the one new silver rim, rear brakes squealing like a virgin on prom night since the rotor got warped and pads messed up. Haven't replaced them yet...

Towed with her for the first time the other day. I'm not sure if it was just the snow/ice on the road, but I think the towing geometry may be off a bit. I've flown back to Florida for a couple weeks, so I'll mess with it when I get back.
