Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

XUV midgate and rear gate regulator fix

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by DappleRhino » Thu Oct 13, 2016 11:37 pm

So I bet it's a bit faux pas to cite another site here? But just for posterity today I worked on my mid and rear gates using these respective forums from another site; http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.p ... ?_k=c38ldw and http://forums.trailvoy.com/showthread.p ... ?_k=078k5d.

Good content and relevant information that aided in my repair of both gates. If I did my own write up I would delete a few things and add a few others, otherwise they were good resources.

Once the regulators were in and I recalibrated the rear gate I did a full functions test. Rear went up and down from the overhead, key at rear, and fob. The mid went up and down from the console and the roof slide open and closed as it's supposed to do. I also tested the tail gate with the right swing open and drop tail gate (like all the rest of the Trailblazers and Envoys; mine has two open functions) and it works wonderfully.

Now that I have restored full functionality to the Envoy I can work in convincing the wife to let me modify it and get off-road!

Edit: This also restored full functionality to the roof, the rear wipers (including the wiper sprayer), and rear window defroster.

Trailvoy is a great resource. Many members here provided a good portion of the content before the VS ruination of it.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

Hahaha well from my N00b thread it appears that a locker and some more aggressive tires are in order.

I'll need to do a weekend in the woods to feel out the packing order and discover some strengths and weaknesses before I dive too deep. But the locker definitely makes sense!

I'm gonna keep lurking and get back to you.

It might be worthwhile to update the title so if another XUV owner has these issues in the future it makes it easier for them to find your post.

That is a very valid point. Consider it done.

Thanks man, part of me would love to have an XUV. Most of the time it would do everything I need very well.
