I would but I don't have any paper. I'll have to go get some when I get the chance.

that's how I restored mine. 1000 grit, wet sand, then buff up with some med grit rubbing compound. Then I seal it with McGuires headlight protectant

It's not like new, but close.

LOL I'm dying! Hahaha

Bacon had a good suggestion, some sand paper and polishing compound will probably clean it up, just make sure when your done you seal it do the plastic doesn't pit and yellow with a quickness.

VHT has a lense tint that guy's have been using for years. You might give that a go. A lil goes a long way as you found out LOL

I use acetone quite a bit, it's some interesting stuff!

Not you can throw some hid in there and you won't blind others. ;) LMAO Since you have to get new headlights look into some projectors and HIDS.

I've already got HIDs in there. I'll probably get the smoked OEM styles in my reply to Ricky above.

From what I have read may times over on GMTNATION.COM the projectors focus the light more effectively. Stock housing just scatter the light because they were not made for HIDS. Thus blinding on coming traffic.

Just leav them like they are, you will be welcomed to the Walmart parking lot with the rest of the tinted light trucks. Lower the rear and you can be their king!

Sandpaper and compound didn't do the trick. sandpaper made it worse, compound alone with a cloth did something, but hardly enough to notice. seems like the acetone just ate right through the outer layer(s).

1000 grit is just gonna take off a thin layer, you need to be more aggressive, acetone eats plastic. It just dissolves it and breaks it down. You're probably gonna have to go fairly deep to have a chance. I'd probably start at 220 briefly, just to knock down the worst and then work it down from there.

Worse case scenario is that you ruin em and have to buy a new headlight lol

Take the 220 and then to 400 and work your way to 1000. Make sure it is baby smooth and then use the compound and finish up with plastic polish.

I have had HID in stock projectors for years and not been brighted. It is about the aiming. A projector would be a better choice, but too much money for something i just do not feel is needed in my experience. For $35 and some time spent dialing in the aim...HIDs were a great improvement for me. Tried some of the Sylvania and other halogen upgrades first, but just not the same. I did think about trying LED, but I know a few actually went back to HID after buying them and seeing the results. Too expensive for me to want to risk that still

I agree with you aiming your lights is the most important thing. Led bulbs have some improving to do and i personally think hids are the better choice.. I just wanted long lasting bulbs. But what about the laser lights they have in bmws and audis now? When can I buy a kit for that.. Lol

Been near 5 years on my hid bulbs. Better than expected.

Not seen the lasers yet but could be fun.

Yeah hids last awhile too. I've had my leds like a month haha...

But bmws are offering them in the i8s as a new highbeam option with all kinds of cool technology.. Although, I'm pretty sure we won't see them in the US due to regulations.
