Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

A/c delete

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by tarsh » Sat May 09, 2015 9:15 pm

Since I lifted iv been slowly been simplifying the "computerizeing" of my trailblazer. Has anybody on here done the a/c delete? I grew up without it and I don't really care to have it since it doesn't work any way. It will open up the engine bay a bit and I plan to snorkel at some point. Please post your opinions now! :D

It would probably be easier to repair the ac and leave it then tear it all out. Then again I am biased. Im in Texas

 no I want to rid of it. I do hate the heat but don't care enough to fix it. The pully is cheap enough.

Yeah i guess i like being able to defrost while it humid and raining but im a mechanic also so repairing things aren't an issue.

Besides bypassing the ac compressor there really shouldn't be anything to remove unless you just want to do so. The ac wiring is integrated into many parts of the harness so removing it would be a hassle and just not necessary.

I wouldn't dig that far into it. Just the hoses and condenser

Rip it out! You could always try to fab up a mount and have an onboard air compressor.

The air compressor suggestion is a pretty good one. Could be really helpful.
I removed the a.c.from my firebird when I lived in TX and it was my daily driver, I get where you're coming from Nathan. I was working towards removing weight though.

There's a few ways to go about it I'm sure, but I don't recall anyone doing it on the I6.
