Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

painted stock 16s

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I was painting my friends rims on his z71 for him and decided that it would look good to paint part of my stock rims also. The only thing differently is I only painted the inserts of the rim that where originally gray. With my TB being black I think the "machined" look turned out pretty good in my opinion. But here are the rims, let me know what y'all think! :hmm:

I like it, southernrootz93.

I've been considering doing just that with my stock 17s, which are a slightly different style. I don't care much for the all black rims that seem to be everywhere now, but I do like the "combo"look. My rims have some of the OEM finish lifting, so I'll try to use some stripper on them first, then buff the parts that will stay alloy, paint the rest black, then clear coat all of it.

That actually looks really good. Don't see many masking and utilizing the lines on factory wheels. There are several GM wheels out there that look really amazing in a 'two-tone' like that.

Yeah I've done several of the all black look for people but lately I been doing the "machined" look alot, especially for the chevy 17s on the 03s and the 18s and 20s from the 07+ chevys. My favorite I've done so far is the 20s.
Also when you clear coat it make sure to do it thin layers at a time otherwise it will "milk" over..

Duplicator has some silver and anthracite also, if you don't like black.

My wheels look like butt, but I'm pretty sure painting them wouldn't help me at all lol

Thanks guys, just some small improvements to it to make it stand out a lil bit. I plan on putting the rough county lift/lvl kit on it with 1.5" wheel spacers so I can put some new toyo mts on it. Then I'll be puttin the curved 50" light bar on it and I guess I'll call it finished :safari: :hmm:
