Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Transmission Plumbing

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I just got my TB fixed and a steep price. The problem... a slow drip, developing into a bigger drip, from the trans lines running behind the radiator. Rusted and rotted transmission lines that is. As always its better to get them replaced (4 total) then have them blow out and possibly lose your transmission while on the road. Cost? $600 bucks! The mechanic had to drop the trans to get to the lines and such, but it was an opportunity for me to get a look under my TB and see what carnage if any has taken place. A few dents here and there, but really all I see is a few holes in the muffler. So I might be swapping that out.

I just wanted to mention this and have you guys inspect your lines and keep them clean. As I believe the earlier models had steel lines and the later stainless. Either way keep the mud off them.

Correct about the change in later years. I beleive they also changed the routing path slightly so it doesn't potentially hit the exhaust.
