Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

I am an idiot!!

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by MrSmithsTB » Tue Nov 24, 2009 12:22 am

I made a huge noob mistake :gimp: , and it just ended up making my day. I have assumed since I became interested in lifting that I had an open differential. I even checked the codes in the glove box, saw GT4, and stopped reading. For no reason at all, I second guessed myself just moments ago. I went to take out the trash and popped the glove box to double check. Guess what is right next to GT4? G80!!! :excited: I'm so damn excited I could crap my pants where I sit. I'm also embarrassed as hell that I didn't check thoroughly enough  Anyway, :friday:

Explains a hell of a lot. I may be able to win...if Mario doesn't make it. Remember, I'm going to be on ATs now..

Mario's 4x4 hasn't been used in who knows how long, its very simple, like certain body parts, if you don't use it you loose it! :poke:

Before any of you smart-asses say anything mines broke cause i probably bogged it too much in mud and got metal shavings into the housing and messed up the flux capacitor!

Well he said he looked in his glove box and saw it?

I take it by lookin the the glove box he meant behind it after letting it fall down limp. I automatically assumed i didnt have a G80, but Id like to know if mine has one. So basically I am asking how i could check.

EDIT: Just read in an introduction thread that it says on a sticker, Ill check in the morning.

Open your glove box. Youl find a sticker on the inside witch a whole bunch of letter/number combos. Search in there for the code "G80". This "G80" represents a locking rear differential. Dont be scared, not everyone has it (i dont) but youl still be okay offroad.

Il leave ou here to search for any further information you wish.

The best way to test it is dig up a 3x8 area of your lawn leave the hose running for an hour or two which replacing some of the dirt pull the rear wheels into it and see what happens.
