Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

I have the 89s and the 2.5 on now. But my control arm is chirping with every little movmemt and its stressing me out SOOOOO bad!!! It's louder than my straight pipe and radio. What can u get out of the radflos again? O but on a lighter note. My lightbar came in last night.

You're simply overloading the tensile strength of the steel at the shock rod. To make this combo work, you have 3 options.
  • Find a different shock solution with a larger diameter mounting thread
  • Find a way to get more downward extension before the shock fully extends (but this means having to find solutions to your other limitations too, otherwise you will just break something different)
  • Use a shock extender at the top of the bilstein, then add a limit strap from the LCA to the frame to take the extension impulse loading instead of your shock

Personally, I'd choose #3 because the solutions are known and can be purchased today.

Either which way you choose, you'd be forging a new path.

I was going to run option 3. Couldn't seem to find the extention needed. Wasn't sure on metric tread and what not. Limiter straps was already part of my plan up front. I will figure something out ol

Its metric. Since yours is broken, slide a wrench over the thread and see what size wrench fits over it. I thought it was an M10 or M12.

Trying to buy a house and move right now so I'll have to wait, unfortunitly! Although I have the funds to do what ever I want to it right now I have prior obligations :thumleft: :thumright:

The bushings are Accra Integra bushings, its a Monroe part number, you can get rubber ones at most parts stores with the sleeve

Chris, I like the light bar. Mine should be in this week. I'm going to do the same thing Cory depicted above and mount my switches in the overhead.

Marc-Antoine, plastidip your wheels white? If they aren't white, they look it and it looks great. I love white wheels on white vehicles.

Also, my transfer case started leaking, badly, over the weekend, just noticed yesterday. Appears to be the tailshaft mating surface, no idea why it decided to give up. :wallbash:

It's just a illusion. They are factory color. But it could be a great next project....

I can not wait to see your light bar installed. :thumleft:
