Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

What did you do to your GMT today?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Yeah, I noticed they look a bit low, I run them at 35 psi. My tire gauge is in the storage locker, where I put all the gear from the truck after the accident. I'll be going there tomorrow to put all the "stuff" that I consider important to have along back in the truck. That's 2 plastic totes and a couple of plastic milk crates full of chains, jack, load straps, tow strap, jumper cables, oil, trans fluid, and a load of other "essentials".

Drove it to work. Love that my rig can always be counted on. Would use it everyday but 135 miles and fuel costs even at 15 mpg negates that option.

Made it beg for sliders on the trail today.

Bent my stupid effin side skirt on a big stick that wedged itself between the wheel and the skirt. Bollocks! O well. Guess it's time for them sliders...

Takin the skirts off entirely tomorrow, bare sheet metal be durned! ;)

Oh.. and sorry for the rotation issue on the pic. It's oriented proper in my gallery.. too lazy to figure it out... :/

Got my gear out of the locker into the truck today, and stopped by the shop to tell them to order a new washer tank for me, which they'll install when it arrives, as well as align the new headlights, and fix the one fog light, all as part of the damage claim, of course. I didn't get time to air up the tires yet, HARDTRAILZ.

Interestingly...I meant that I put air in my tires, not telling you to do so. As it has gotten chilly outside I needed to bump them back up to the proper cold psi.

it's really too cold to paint, even after 24 hours the paint is soft, i don't think it will ever get as durable as it should be. but it should prevent rust until i get the light brackets welded on, holes drilled for rock lights and whatever else i decide to do and powder coat it.

Took the TBlaze in to the dealer on the cusp of it's available fuel pump sender TSB. They did the usual and threatened a diagnostic fee, if the sender wasn't the culprit, which is excessive, but understandable. The diagnostic was done and said that it was at fault, and tried to up sale me a fuel pump and a fuel system treatment for $800 since they wouldn't be charging labor on the pump as they had to have it out anyway. I told them no, just replace the sender. They called back again and stated they now refused to remove the fuel pump due to severe rust and wanted me to authorize them to replace it for $580, of the aforementioned $800. At this point, I was under the whole stealership mentality, frustrated, and told them to just put it back together and give me the sender.

At this point I would do it myself when I purchased a fuel pump for half the price. The only reason I hadn't done it already was because I was under the assumption that the sender was integrated as part of the pump and could not be replaced separately, so why not let GM fix the whole thing per their letter? Wrong, turns out, but that was okay, part of it.

They called back again, and said that they would not give me the recall part, but would sell it to me for $130. At this point I was done, told them to forget it all and to put the tank back in, I'd deal with it when I could afford the fuel pump. The whole time, they kept trying to sell me on doing it anyway because of safety concerns.

One more call an hour later and turns out the warranty guy had called GM directly and got it authorized to cover new lines, pump and sender, along with labor, all under the claim. I was astonished, to say the least and could not believe it.

So, all that being said, I want to give a huge kudos to GM and my local dealer for doing something above and beyond that didn't actually require money on my part. That is a definition of good customer service, which is shocking to see in the Dealership world these days. The fight I had to go through to get to that point could've been reduced, but I'm still impressed.

I picked it up yesterday afternoon, runs perfect and I can now relax knowing that's an extra $300 I don't have to spend and a tank I don't have to drop.

I brought it home. It's up shifting well now. It doesn't like to downshift though. It will as I reduce speed. When I get on the gas, it will drop gears only sometimes. Codes:
P103 Mass Air Flow High Voltage
P2769 Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Low Voltage
P700 General Transmission Control Failure
P787 Shift Timing Solenoid Low Voltage
It doesn't run poorly. It does go a little too low in RPMs after I rev the engine though.

So after the shift solenoid, torque converter clutch solenoid and shift timing solenoid failure it just says frack it and says there's transmission control failure lol

Yesterday, I changed the driver's side CV shaft seal on the diff... Even with a slide hammer and the CV shaft attachment, it took me like 4 hours to change the thing... Over 3 hours of that was just trying to get the CV shaft out of the diff!

It's usually the "simple" things that drive me crazy and cost me time. I'm pretty sure Jason can relate. Lol

Replaced the brakes and flushed the fluid today. What a difference it has made! I had to wrestle with a sticking guide pin but it was fixed soon enough with a little cleaning and addition of grease.
