I don't know which ones he got but if I remember right the body style changed in 97 (drivetrain in 96) so I would expect the 96 and 97 flares would be different.

The flares fit all 84-01 cherokees. In 97 the tail lights changed as well as front clip but the body lines are the same.

They look gaudy to me.
If you must have them for law/safety reasons I can understand but if not I would leave them off.
I guess everyone has their own tastes though else we would all be the same.

Well, now I just wonder why charlie never came back and posted more.

The bottom front of the rear flare looks a little off to me. But everything else looks great. Could cram even bigger tires in there and it would look even better. Too bad there's not a dozen more pics from half a dozen angles or more.

ben if your axle is pushed back a few inches like mine and steves the flares might go in kinda funky. plus there is an off set cut out on the bottom of each end of the flares for i guess the contour of the molding. a friends shop had some of these and i was able to check a set out for a 96 cherokee. i would have to offset these and really do some cutting and blending to even come close to looking right for my truck. im on the fence........ but dont see really any issues with installing these on a stock axle location. just a little blending of the bottoms of the flares if it matters to you.

Don't see how that lines up with us though...

I helped install a set of this type on a jeep, before hand, I took them out to my TB and tried setting them against the body to see how they might fit due to our inablility to have some made for our vehicle.

They would not fit w/o modifying. The bottom of the jeep curves in a bit more at the bottom than our vehicle does.

For some reason, I couldn't convince my friend to let me work on fitting them to my TB instead of his cherokee... some friend... J/K

So while he has pics with them on, it wasn't a direct bolt on, there had to be some modding done to fit them properly.

I need to come up with something I guess in MA a tire sticking out beyond fender is a 200 per tire fine. This is what I have heard from others

I've been drivin the Jeep around without rear flares. No looks from cops at all. I'll run like this til I get hassled and throw them on for inspections.
