I got around 10 pulling a pop up at 65mph with my LS2 and 4.11 gears.... It was mostly highway, but still! If you're doing 55-60 with a 4.2 and getting less than 13, I'd be wondering if you aren't having issues!

Yea me too.. Thinking about doing a tune up soon, including tranny rebuild.. I was getting 13-14 but lately it has been around 9-11.. But New York City is alot of stop and go so I understand it most of the time.

Hate to ask this but I've done some research and I get mixed results. How bad would a 33" C/D Ply Tire affect MPG? Especially on our platform? Cause I'm already looking at getting some 33s next year.

What is your MPG now?
If I remember right you are running 4.10s so it won't affect you as much as some of the others. There might be a couple of guys that have run that combo a little to give some real world numbers.

Yep running 4.10s. As for MPG I don't really pay attention to it. I'm figuring it can't be all that bad. I just want to know what I'll be getting into. Last time I checked I got 15mpg from my house to work and from my house to Detour Village Mi(119 Miles one way) I got 17mpg. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and guess that I'd be looking at 10mpg to 15mpg.

MPG won't keep me from future mods/upgrades. I don't drive enough to warrant that. If my job situation changes where I have to drive very far to work, I'll get a little beater for that. It is always a good idea to have a spare car anyway.

Don't know if that's sarcasm or a complement :poke: But I'll take it as a complement either way.

Was trying for the compliment, hence the "cheers". Probably would've used the facepalm for sarcasm. So :raspberry:

90 miles of 80+ mph showed 15.8 average. 90 miles of 60 mph showed 17.4 mpg. Both today and numbers via scanguage II. Last hand calculation was over 28 gallons and showed about 15.75 in mixed driving.

I'm not sure if that's helping you, to be honest.

You've gotta get those RPMs up so you're not constantly dropping out of lockup. I bet your rpms at those speeds in 4th gear are like 1400? I'd probably suggest you just stay in 3rd gear if you're going that speed.

If you were going 70, at least you'd have an rpm more like 1700, which is about where our engines start to make power.

I bet that's 90% of the problems we see with fuel efficiency, your trans just won't stay locked up because you've just got too tall of a gearing setup for your tires. When the trans drops out of lockup, it loses approx 1/3 of the efficiency of a locked up trans, bye bye fuel, and hello hot transmission!

I got an average of 18mpg on my trip out to the high lakes and 20mpg on the way back. With 22 mpg for half of that. :woot:
