Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Fuel mileage.

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Caleb I expect you need to clean your TB, replace your TStat and front O2 sensor.
Also the larger tires will throw your odometer off so you will have to account for that as well.

Sorry JD I never answered your q. It's a little hard to tell exactly but with the singles I was doing 5-5.5 but I had a low pro grain trailer and my truck had a wing on top. I took the wing off and switched back to duals. With both changes I gained .5mpg. That's nearly $200 a week in fuel savings. But I did lose the 1/4 ton commodity hauling ability. Since then I switched to a normal trailer and put the wing back on. 5-5.25mpg now.

There isn't normally THAT much of a difference between the DIC and the correct number. Are you sure you did your math right?

100% You take your Mileage and divide it by the gallons you put in or vice versa. Drove 64 miles and put in 5 some gallons. I left the receit at our cottage.... This was before the 100miles

No. Just filled up from 3/4. Parents don't want me to go past 1/2 on the fuel info due to it not working and running out of gas quite a few times.
Sorry for the confusion.

Might not have been filled up entirely the previous time...

If he didn't fill it up entirely this time, it would actually be much better than actual.

The system requires that you let it click off automatically each time.

I changed my Tstat on Sat and went on an interstate trip yesterday.
my mpg went up from ~18 to 20.5.
this is mostly 70mph on the interstate about 160 miles one way. It is the same trip I checked it on earlier.
It will be interesting to see how much impact it has on local trips.

Mine went from 13.2 on the DIC with 3.42 and 33" tires to 14.4 on the DIC once I put the E-Fans on. Ready see what what it goes to when I put the 4.10's in. This is mostly in town driving.

Well last night I put in my 8.6" 4.10 rear and all I can say about my fuel mileage is Wow! I went on a 130 mile trip this morning, when I was leaving the house I reset my average fuel monitor on my DIC and when I pulled back in the drive this afternoon in was at 19.5! This was with the cruise set at 65mph. I know this will go down once I start driving in town but I think it's going to get better mileage than I orignally thought. Remeber I'm on 33" tires and the TB was really strugging with these tires and the factory 3.42 gearing. Hopefully my 4.10 front will show up next week, then I can hit some trails.

3200lb boat, 3.42 265/70-17 12.7 mpg without calculating the difference for tire size change. 178 miles. I'm changing careers shortly and will have time to send the PCM in for a recalibration finally.

I've been waiting for a cool day to make this tow easier on the tranny but with sandy coming, and my boat insurance company telling me to review my coverage before the storm it had to happen today. Was in the low 50's, was hoping for a 40 degree day but temps seemed to stay around normal. Gotta add a cooler with bigger tires now.

I just did a run to Seattle and back today, about 350 miles.

After gassing back up and doing the math, right at 15mpg, even with a little in-town driving! :excited:
