Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Flashing sel

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by midnight » Thu Aug 26, 2010 10:28 pm

Had the passenger side manifold gasket replaced today. Picked it up and drove it about 10 miles and when I came to a stop the motor started shaking and the sel started flashing. My scangauge says it's a p0174 and p0300. I cleaned the mafs and checked for vac leaks. And nothing fixed it.

Any ideas?

Have you checked them with the DTC diagnostic sheets? Sometimes they can help lead to a diagnosis.

If you have a V8, which it sounds like?... the codes imply a random misfire and that you're running lean.

Also, be sure to do a search on Trailboy... there is a lot of information in their database.

Thanks James. I already searched and posted on tv. And I searched ls1tech also.

I know I am getting spark on that side. But if I pull the master harness for the coils the idle doesn't change. But of I pull the same harness on the passenger side it dies. So the motor is running on the driver side cylinders.

I am assuming that the injectors on the passenger side are not firing. I am starting to wonder if the o2 sensor went bad.

If the O2 sensor fails, the engine still goes into limp mode. I doubt the computer would shut off its own fuel or spark to the point it wouldn't fire.

Most likely, they messed something up upon installation... to me, if you're getting spark on that side, it sounds like you're not getting fuel, as you said. But I imagine it to be an issue of the fuel harness getting broken or forgotten about or not plugged in enough.

Try and purge your Fuel rail. If you look at your fuel line just before it connects to your fuel rail there is a little cap. Remove that and push in on it with a screwdriver. That will purge your fuel line and get all possible air out, maybe this will clear your issue.

I had to do this when i completed my swap, otherwise i sounded like a Bigblock with a serious cam, and whenever i would try and give it gas it would cut out on me. Give it a shot
