Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

By request - Sound clip of turbo muffler on I6 TB.

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Figured I wouldn't hijack irishboy's thread any longer.

At about 50 sec I put it in gear and left foot brake it so you can hear the motor rev under load. After that I give it a couple good clips in park.

Replaced cat with Maremont (AKA Cherry Bomb) universal 2.5" in-out cat and muffler with same brand 2.5" in-out turbo muffler.

Running joke around the house is that I currently own the beefiest, most badass sounding kazoo ever made. :D They call em the "buzzin half dozen" for a reason.

Mow my lawn when you are done?

I hacked my can and my muffler, replacing the muffler with a dynomax turbo. It sounds deeper than that, but still like a ricer on steroids. Stupid inline motor! They should've left the 4.3 from the S series, or maybe made the 5.3 more common.

Yeah the mic on my phone isn't the best. It sounds quite a bit deeper in person.

Cab noise for me isn't bad at all. I can hear a leak in one of my welds at the cat... gotta fix that tomorrow.

Sounds a lot like mine, only louder. I just have the resonator delete. We need to engineer a muffler that deepens the sewing machine... :viking:

Not exactly my cup of tea but not bad. I have the jba exhaust on mine now and its not too bad. Nothing beat my last setup though. I had the magnaflow dual kit and cut the resinators, best sounding i6 iv heard yet and thats not just cause it was mine.

If I go with anything I am gona go back to the flowmaster hush power 2 muffler and resonator. I had that on my old pickup that hd a sabb 5 cyl engine and everyone always thought it was a v8. No high tones, no fart can sounds, just a reallly awesome rumble and scream when I left people in my dust.

Sounds alot like mine. I cut of the can and replaced the stock muffler with a thrush high flow glass pack. The guys at the firehouse always know when I'm rollin onto a scene.

LOL, you want to give up 100HP and 3mpg?

My 5.3L Trailblazer gets better mileage than my 4.3L 2-door S-10 Blazer... 4.3 is pretty near bullet-proof, but is an ineffecient dog compared to newer designs...

The fav flowmaster of mine is the hush power series. It really just makes a wonderful sound. Currently I did the res delete, and used 3" mandrel bent pipe from the axle back to a 4.5" tip. I also have the airiad intake....it sounds pretty damn good. Nice tone at idle....Roadie even complemented it, and said if he hadnt riped his stock muffler off on a rock, he wouldnt have gone with his aftermarket muffler because he says it is too loud when running at camp, and in the tight canyons and rock passes he goes through.

If I do end up going with something that has a bit more growl....I would go back to the flowmaster hush power2 muf. and res.

They should've gone forward with the VortecMAX powered Z71. That way it would be easier to swap the 4.2 with the 6.0
This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.
