Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Gas burn in the armpit

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by midnight » Thu Jul 29, 2010 12:00 pm

So last week I was doing the maintenance on the tb before our trip last weekend. I was changing the fuel filter and went through the drill of getting the fuel out of the line.

I open the gas cap, pull the pump relay, I start the tb and let it die, and then I push the schrader valve in on the connection of the filter. A little gas came out so I figure its drained.

WRONG!!!!!!

Apparently there was a some debris in the valve that didn't let the fuel pressure release. When I removed the first line gas sprayed all over my face, my shirt, and went down into my arm pit where is mixed with my deodorant and burned my arm pit. It f ing hurts. :awesome:

So the moral of this story is, double check everything :wallbash: , and don't wear deodorant when changing a fuel filter.

That sucks, man!

I've had gas get under my watch, and give me a pretty good rash/burn... Not fun at all!

Had that happen several times. Gas doesnt take long when you are sweaty to start stinging.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

This is an aggressive post. You probably won’t like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate a post of this quality and depth.

I know Gerald (Mr. Herculined My Hootus). He is a great guy. I had the distinct honor of performing his marriage ceremony out at Moab, UT on "Top of the World". Most unique off-road wedding! Of course, I brought up the Herculiner thing during the ceremony. :raspberry:

Be careful out there guys... Never know what your innocent pain may lead to (and yes, I still do weddings).
