Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Slider Question.

by Cable810 » Wed Jul 24, 2013 10:56 am

Alright I'm looking at getting some sliders here soon. I have potentially planned a body lift in the future and I'm not sure that if I was to install the sliders and then the Body Lift. It seems that everyone who has a Body Lift did that first then sliders sometime later. Would there have to be modification to the sliders if I install them before a Body Lift?

if you want the sliders to be tucked up by the body then yes, you most definitely need to do the body lift first.
The same goes with the bumper, if you put on a steel bumper and then do a body lift you now have a 2-3" gap between the bumper and the body.

Think of it this way. Sliders, bumpers, really anything mounted to the frame is at a fixed height. When you put on a body lift you are raising the body up higher off the frame. So all those items that were previously up close to the body that are frame mounted aren't anymore.

Would sliders function properly either way?

Ok thanks for the answer just wasn't sure. Now just to figure out what to do next.... I don't see them functioning different Still protecting the body, unless I'm wrong.

take it from me... Think real hard about a body lift before you get sliders. I didn't and now I'm stuck with the job of moving my sliders up 2 inchs

Will they function different... they hang down lower and hang up on stuff. Moots has had this problem on a few different occasions. They'll still let you slide over/ pivot around obstacles either way.
