I had cut my front bumper for body lift relocation. This left me with no real front recovery points. I didn't realize the importance until I got stuck and had to be pulled out from the rear shackle. I can't swing a steel bumper right now, and I didn't want to buy a stock replacement just to throw in the garage once I do upgrade. I thought about it and came up with this. It is a 36" length of 3/16" angled steel. I measured and drilled holes to mount the hooks to the steel and the steel to the frame. Instead of grinding the hooks, I used 3/4" flat washers to shim the frame side. That way they are still useful to someone when I no longer need them. I am going to do some test pulls this weekend, but it seems very solid. I did not grind the lower frame mounts smooth, but I may do that for good measure.

Looks good... should hold up nicely when time comes to pull you out of some ruts.

What will make that stronger for not having to use the washers, is doing it the same way I do the radiator skids for people to use the stock tow hooks... Cut a hole in your angle piece for the stepped part of the hook to go through, then weld another piece on the other side, with a drilled hole in it, that the bolt actually mounts to...

Its too bad I dont live closer, we could have just swapped everything. That way could have had factory pieces. and I could have used your precut pieces.

Do you have 2 or 3 inch body lift? Or is this after body lift was removed?

2", this is after. For the body lift, you have to cut the reinforcement bar that the tow hook bolts to

Yes, it was for the 2" body lift and this is after it was removed. This will work with the body lift if you trim the bumper cover.
