Hey Guys,
Just wanted to throw this up real quick, I know some of you run CAI. I put mine on last night, without debating the pros and cons of the filter itself what I wanted to show you was a simple mod I did.
I tool some "Window A/C Foam", for sealing out drafts, that I had picked up for my garage door and used it around the heat shield to better isolate it. Not pretty, but functional.
Cost: I think I gave $3 for the foam a couple of year ago.

Couldn't you just hollow out the stock air box, insulate it and get the same results?

Could I have? Yes. Same results? I doubt it. Should smooth out the airflow and it definitely gave it a growl at wide open throttle. Plus it gave me and the boy child some time together.

Bad thing with true cold air intakes, they may actually rob mileage in the winter. Colder air=more fuel

What I gain on my other rigs in summer, I lose in the winter.

Oh no :wallbash: what LED thread?

I'll say this for the cai I built on mine, it really does change the MPG if you not careful in you're driving style. The amount of intake noise is very noticeable, even to the point of on the freeway I can half-to-three quarter gas the TB and the person in front of me will know my intentions just by the intake sound. 8-)

 I will never bring something like that over here. But I did give in to the fabled led gauge conversion a couple of years ago.

is it really a CAI or just a K&N filter.
I mean the air is coming from the same place how is it colder?

That style is still warm air, just flows better.
