Smittybilt XRC-10 winch with the composite line mounted in the KMA "wincher."

I got a Mile Marker cover for it, much needed in this climate:

Aside from a test pull, I haven't used it to pull the vehicle yet. But some of you may get a kick out of use #101 for a winch--"Load the Meatwagon!"

Much easier than trying to get that thing up there by myself. In fact, before I never even tried to get one up there and used a hitch mounted platform (which was a PITA to drive around with when not in use). It would have been a lot easier with a wireless trigger so I could guide the deer while running the winch instead of running back and forth, that's next on the list.

This is one of the reasons I got the composite line--it's just so much nicer to deal with for stuff like that. You don't need to worry about it cutting a groove in anything it rubs against. And of course you don't need to worry about metal slivers if you dare to touch it without gloves, it has virtually no memory, etc. It's more expensive, but I think it's a worthwhile upgrade.

That is AWESOME!

One of the joys of hunting on family land is; when I get a deer, i call my grandpa (or one of the other hunters, or I get it myself) to bring down the tractor... I field dress it there, and we just pick it up 4" to put in the tractor front end loader bucket... Take it up to the house and dump it in the back of the truck with the front end loader. Go check it in, stop and get ice, then back up to the wood shed, and string it up from the back of the truck... I then process it, and it goes home in the back of the truck in coolers... Did this again, yesterday, as a matter of fact...

That is a good use for a winch

We ran into some hunters a couple weeks ago on a ride out in Nevada just after a fresh kill. Two guys were struggling for a while trying to load up a huge buck into the back of their lifted truck. They would've been all grins with your setup :shoot:

Haha! I keep a come-along in my Cummins just for situations like that... Attach it to the bed tie-down points, and the deer, and go to town...
