Nice! I also can't believe they didn't have the holes predrilled, seems kinda lazy. Are there different size fairleads (as far as mounts)??

So how heavy was that bumper, anyway? How much of it is 1/4 stock?

If you're worried, buy snatch blocks. You should have some on hand anyway for off angle pulls.

+1.. And extra shackles... The lower up front price of the winch helps with all the secondary 'schtuff' you should get :drive:

:Iagree: what kind of drill do you have that can't handle 1/4" steel??

Very nice looking bumper! It does stick out a bit to far for my taste, but still very nice!

Did you get steel line? Make sure you go out and stretch it before you actually use the winch. You'll thank yourself when you need it.

Combined the two threads that kept going back and forth on the same subject.

Fish, I think that's only syn line that needs to be stretched. Steel is pretty good as is.

My understanding was just the opposite, as steel strand can bird's nest. I don't own a winch though... just going off what I (thought I) read.

She's sexy now lol, just don't know how to make the holes for the fair lead the holes need to be big lol and i don't have a drill bit that will do it :( needless to say it would kill my drill since it's 1/4" thick steel :(( any ideas I thought I could use the highest heat with slow slow wire speed to almost act like a plasma but my welder isn't strong enough :( any ideas ? I wish they put the holes in at the factory on the bumper :(((((

Congrats! Another plus on thta bumper design is how low the winch sits in reltion to your grill. I have a ton of blockage on mine and wonder if it leads to higher under the hood temps when crawling.

So, did you get a chance to do some test pulls??

:hijack: Do you see higher coolant temps on the highway in 90+ heat? With my hellas installed, my water temp creeps over 225 F. So I've resorted to removing the big lights during the peak of summer.

Only during slow crawling hith high 80/90 temps never during highway speeds. I actually replaced my fan clutch recently as I did receive some p1481/4 codes. I hope to do some slow crawling this weekend for some more testing. Really contemplating hood vents and an extra dc fan...

I know you're kinda new to the winch game... which is why I ask this. Did you use a tree strap? If not, you should get one.

Recovery strap + D shackle = acceptable tree strap.

What do you think people do when the tree is too big around to fit the strap?

There were some good points brought up on this thread, too bad it was so painfull to read I couldn't finish it. Im not tryin to be mean or anything but man can someone do some proof reading first? It is a sweet bumper but I couldn't understand half of what was written.
