I'm sure everyone has seen the XUV entirely covered in Herculiner, I guess I don't have the same balls as that guy, but I did like the look and usefulness of having the ability to easily repair the surface that is most susceptible to trail damage. So.................I painted the fender flares, I've got an LTZ, bottom door trim, and bumpers with Herculiner. It was easy and relatively cheap, under $100, and if it gets messed up it's super easy to repair. I think it looks good, which is all that matters, and I'm thinking in the future to Herculiner the bottom of the doors, ala TNF edition, and doing the wheels as well. Pics soon

P.S. I'm not going to have pics till after the weekend so someone go ahead and post the "This Thread is Useless Without Pictures" emoticon

PICS!!!!
(I also painted all my exterior black trim including the bug guard, grille, bowtie, and roof rack, with Black Krylon Fusion)
I would recommend anyone with black trim do the same, it makes it look like a new truck :)
~and the exhaust pic is of my resonator delete, I wanted max ground clearance once I ripped off the bumpers so I asked him to put the bend in it to keep it just about even with the metal part of the bumper.

Mario you need to do the rocker too! Haha. That would look pretty sweet tho, I've been contemplating this for a while, and maybe doing the raised center part of the hood as well. Kinda waiting on fender flares before I do this tho.

Remember, flares will probably be bolted on, so you could do the bumpers and lower doors beforehand

:hijack: as soon as the Carlisle ATNs are done with, I'm going to get to work finding and adapting the closest flares from another model as opposed to building from scratch. If all goes according to plan, I'll be able to get flares and simply modify them to fit our platform.

Hey Gordinho, out of curiosity, are you running the Euro/Japanese headlights? or the home made grey turn signal housings?

Yea I know, just didn't want to have to do any more painting than I have to... looking to do it all at once, but then again I might just do it when I have a free weekend. And since I'm not running a front bumper theres less work involved.

Very nice, Mario - but the sacrificial plastic rockers should really go soon.

Mario, looks great! How much Herculiner did it take?
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do.
