Something not working right?

by Anthony Hernandez » Fri Dec 09, 2016 6:07 pm

I've taken my tb to a guy with a snap on reader 5x now, every time I look up the code then I buy the sensor it says is bad, and still cannot get the airbag light off. Should I break down and take it to a dealership? (Costs. $105 for the read) Or should I trust that maybe all Of those sensors are junk and keep doing what the thing says.

Usually when the light goes off for any reason, you have to have it turned off. Last time my air bags went off, I shipped the air bag control module to a place I found on eBay who reset it based on the VIN. It wasn't very expensive. Check with the dealership, the $105 is usually just to scan, then they charge you to reset it as well.

Yeah, I haven't wrecked bro. And the times I've gotten it read I've fixed the problem that the guy said to fix, but they guy I got my parts from, aka tony tb. Which he's pretty good and ships via eBay as 1933trader he said I absolutely must have to get it read by a tech 2 reader. Not snap on, is there really a difference?

It's possible. Tech 2 is GM specific.

I got the BlueDriver off Amazon, it reads all modules and will erase the codes as well. Did you erase codes after fix?

Any electrical bugs ever?

Some codes and request functions are indeed proprietary to GM and many scan tools will not work. If you can't find a local shop to do a free scan with a genuine TechII, you may have to pay the dealer. (Or drive up to MI and visit me :P )

Well I figured out what was wrong, I had severed a wire off of the harness on the bottom of the driver seat. I soldered it back together and the light went right off.
