Oil Pressure Gauge

Something not working right?

by mason10198 » Sat Jan 09, 2016 4:59 pm

I had this problem when I first bought the TB but it went away. Now, a year later, it's popping up again.

Only happens when idling in park after driving for a while. I'm guessing it's just a pressure switch that needs to be replaced. Unless someone else thinks it's a instrument cluster problem or something.

Yeah, that's definitely your sensor. It's right above the oil filter. Could be a bad connection, but it's usually a faulty sensor.

Btw the oil pressure gauge is a lie. IIRC the gauge get signal from the bcm or PCM to approximate the oil pressure.

Yeah, all the sensor does is say whether or not it has pressure, any fluctuation in the needle movement is the computer trying to make you think everything is OK.
