In case you still need the VIN number. This is off my 2005 Trailblazer Ext.

Thanks Matt.

I had the mechanic drill out the yoke's holes. He also provided the bolts and lock nuts. This option is going to work great.

Axle is all back together and mounted! I still need the driveshaft, its waiting for me at a local yard. Then I need an alignment.

Driveshaft acquired. Pressed out the old U-Joints and cleaned all the rust off. First coat of primer is drying now. I'll hit it again tomorrow AM with another coat then some paint, followed by undercoating. Then the new joints get pressed in!

Hopefully she's aligned and all set by Saturday!

So I have the truck all back together!!!!! I took it for a test ride just around the block, make sure I didn't leave anything loose.

The trans doesn't want to shift. I didn't push it, but it wouldn't upshift. I have the ABS and BRAKE lights on and the cluster displays SERVICE BRAKE SYSTEM. I also have 2 codes... P0113 and P0526...

UGH! Am I ever going to get this thing back on the road?!?!

P0113

Intake Air Temperature sensor (IAT)

If the PCM detects an excessively high IAT signal voltage, indicating a low temperature, DTC P0113 sets.

Engine Controls pages 6-808 GM service manual

P0526

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) cooling fan speed signal

If not fixed, PCM will command the cool fan to 100%.

It will clear after three consecutive passed runs.

Engine Cooling pages 6-604 GM service manual

Don't know if this will help.

Any suggestions on the lack of shifting?

PCM error possibly. Have you reset the system? I wonder if errors were thrown in to some type of PCM limp mode.

Also, could be internal transmission problem for accident.

I know when I replaced the servo on mine it would not shift. I needed to reinstall the servo properly.

Can you get a feel of what gear it's stuck in?

Feels as though it's stuck in 2nd, I want to say. Battery was disconnected while the truck was being repaired. I did reconnect before putting rear back together 100%... Even drove it from street back onto driveway with just the front hooked up and a open rear diff... I'll disconnect battery and let it sit overnight, try it tomorrow

Just making sure, did you check the fluid with the engine warm, after driving it? Sometimes we get a false reading.

The transmission fluid level was the first thing that came to mind too.

I don't really recall how much trans fluid was lost... But I also did not check the level. Will do so tomorrow AM when I hook battery back up to see if PCM clears itself out.

What is the trans doing exactly? Is it running up the rpms and then shifting into a neutral? Or just not shifting at all and letting the rpms spin up?

What happens if you stick the trans in 1st, 2nd, do you get the desired gears then?

I'm wondering if your trans is what made your driveshaft go bye bye. That could explain things. Normally a driveshaft doesn't just let loose like that for no reason. I'm wondering if your trans did something strange while you were at highway speeds that sent some sort of shock-load into the drive shaft, which caused it to fail the u joint.

What led you to believe the trans is no good?

I was joking... well, hopefully.

James mentioned the possibility of the trans doing something that led to the u-joint breaking. I'm hoping not...

I'll be going back outside shortly to hook the battery back up and check the fluid level. I'll keep you all posted.

Trans fluid level is fine... battery hooked back up. Still have ABS and BRAKE lights.
Drove it around the block and same thing... won't go past 2400-2500 RPMs. Speedometer is also not reading now. I didn't notice if it was or not yesterday.

GPS on phone said I was doing 18-20mph

From 3000 miles away and sleep, it sounds like PCM.

Edit: Add-Do you have a service manual handy? I would think you do.

Check to make sure all of the electric components are hooked up on the transmission before going forward. Many of these could cause problems.

No service manual... I know, FAIL on my part.

I don't recall unplugging anything from the transmission while doing this work.

The only thing I could think of, is with the 2 plugs that go into the TC housing where mine broke. I might have them crossed.
