Air Conditioning issue

Something not working right?

by localarmyman » Mon May 20, 2013 2:23 pm

Hey guys i am sure this issue has been hit time and time again but for some reason when i search i am coming up empty handed, i just need to be pointed in the right direction, i have an 04 trailblazer and i also have the digital temp control, when i set the ac as low as it goes it will blow cold on the passenger side but warm on the driver side, it must just be some sort of temp control switch or something but like i said im just not finding the info, i hope you all dont mind helping me on what im sure is a dead issue but any info would be appreciated

You probably have a blown or misaligned actuator on the drivers side. Re-align or replace.

This one describes it as the air mode actuator

and from the picture, searching on GMT, found this

The third post down on this GMT Nation Post should be a little more helpful.

Usually just a google search for actuator driver side air with site:gmtnation.com or offroadtb.com will give you good results

A temperature issue is caused one one of the two TEMP actuators. Losing the dash vent airflow (the most common failure) is caused by the airflow MODE actuator.

i am still able to switch between the defrost, floor, and face vents no problem, and it is pushing plenty of air its just warm on the driver when it should be cold so would that make it the Mode actuator, or the defrost-driver temp actuator?

Logically, since your temperature on your drivers side is the only issue... I would replace the drivers temp actuator first.

JD is right. And don't forget to search for and read the threads on other sites that refer to the correct fuse to pull and the process to follow for recalibration after the actuator replacement.

I am having the same issue. I'm no mechanic so what is this picture of? Because I think all of mine need to be replaced. I have NO AIR FLOW through any of my vents. I did about 2 days ago and it was cold so the temperature is not a problem.

I too had the same problem I have been searching for the past day on here and Gmtnation but come up empty handed on the search. This is the only relevant search I have found.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Could be you fan motor and or resistor pack and connector. Search on that. Do you get any air flow at any speed?
