2006 Envoy coolant temp sensor ruined my night

Something not working right?

by v7guy » Sun Mar 17, 2013 10:52 pm

Was helping work on an 06 Envoy and discovered the coolant temp sensor was moved to the pass side rear of the motor, halfway down the block, and under multiple hoses. Eventually I figured out that if I laid on the engine I could get to it. Got it out and then we ended up crossthreading it trying to get the new one in.
I don't think the threads are totally fubared but I don't know how the hell I'm going to get a tap back there, or how I'm going to keep from crossthreading it again even if I can straighten the threads out.
I'm going to be really irritated when we have to pull the motor to get to this shit and fix it.

Any advice while I sit here and drink?

Duct tape and chewing gum....is it is fubared, try wd-40 and lighter, followed by call to insurance.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.
