broken 4wd disconnect

Something not working right?

I am hoping someone can help me I was replacing the 4wd disconnect n was trying to take out of oil pan n it broke flush on the oil pan it looks like the only solhtion is to take the oil pan off n that is a lot of work does anyone have experience with this open for any suggestions

It's happened 3-4 times and been discussed. Not sure if anybody posted pictures.

Basically what you do is carefully, drill a lot of holes around the part of the housing you know isn't the oil pan. Weaken it substantially, then chisel the thin parts and sooner or later you can get all the fragments out. Removing the oil pan is almost as hard as swapping an engine.

Put the replacement in with grease and/or antiseize around that part of the housing.

I did that but the problem is the bearing on the end of the disconnect n it looks like I have to take oil pan off bc the bearing is around the intermediate shaft

Stick a screw in the hole of the intermediate shaft and pull it out.

Might want to drain the front diff first.

Just to let everyone know I fixed my broken disconnect it took a while but I got it 4wd works great thanks
