splined disconnect

Something not working right?

by tbangert » Sat Mar 19, 2011 2:32 pm

So I have my splined disco all pulled apart, cleaned and inspecting parts. The outer gear shows some wear on the bearing surface, not a lot of wear but its visible. The wear is maybe half the width of the bearing, and maybe a few thousandths deep, seems logical with a lift and extra stress on that surface. This is where I am having some troubles, do I replace it regardless??? I have the parts, I will be doing all the bearings and seals since I pulled it all apart.

If you have the parts and it's all pulled apart then why not? keep the old one as a spare just in case.
