MAP sensor triggering codes

Something not working right?

by Jimbo121 » Wed Oct 27, 2010 9:46 pm

Ok I am stumped, I got the lift done an now the MAP sensor is triggering a code. Dobbs tells me it was a bad sensor. Changed the sensor and reset the ECM still tripping the code. At idle starts to bog down and drop RPMs then it revs back up. Anyone have a similar issue or have any suggestions.

Have you looked up the trouble code in our diagnostic sheets? What is the code?

That sounds like a vacuum leak. What code has it thrown?

P0105 was the first one. I replaced the sensor and now I am getting two P0105 and P0108

P0108 is:

Manifold Pressure Too High
- Detects a continuous short to voltage or a MAP sensor signal that is out of range high
- MAP > 3.80 V (82 kPa)

Do you have a multimeter? Might be time to break that out. Seems either your MAP sensor is bad, or your wiring is bad.

So the answer was a gunked up throttle body. Running a K&N filter with a Air Raid Throttle body spacer. Was a vacume issue, Thanks James
