Going to use this stuff for the wheels too. :excited:

Looks good man, but I worry about it being able to stick to wheels... especially since you said it can peel off. There are massive centrifugal forces on a wheel... you don't want the plastidip to just fly off. Maybe test it somewhere first?

I've lurked a bit on the ss owners site. They have been using this stuff on their wheels so that they can easily go back to stock later. Seems to be holding up well.

Funny you guys are discussing this, I came extremely close to starting this process last night. Ive watched all of the vids on youtube and read a bunch on all the different forums on the plasti-dip.

Everyone seems to agree that it holds up extremely well, even the Jeep guys have been using it. The 2 bonuses are the prep work (Just dish soap and rubbing alcohol) and the fact that you can return your wheels back if you dont like the look. The video of them doing the ENTIRE Subaru in it is pretty cool, followed by them peeling it off.

Hey Nathaniel. Glad you found this site and I hope you find what you're looking for.

Why don't you go ahead and post up an introduction thread so we can all get to know you.

To attempt to answer your question:

gotspeed1 wrote:curt rear carrier, 6 x 5.5" adapters, cragar soft 8's, maxxis bighorn m/t's (32")

They key is that he has wheel adapters, which change his lug pattern to a more standard 6 x 5.5".

SaltWaterDrinker, I saw you removed your front bumper cover to mount a hitch. Are you mounting a front hitch like the one at the link below or a new bumper?

http://www.etrailer.com/fmr-2006_Chevro ... Blazer.htm

I had often wondered how one of those would mount up and where you would have to cut the bumper cover for the receiver.

dang, "seek and ye shall find" a quick search and evidently Roadie had one many moons ago.

Image

It looks pretty clean and doesn't appear to affect ground clearance in any way that would cause me problems.

I also think that with my cargo carrier on the front it wouldn't restrict too much air flow.

Gonna add that to my Christmas list!

I was hoping to acquire a full on FAB'd bumper, or just one to accommodate a hitch, winch, or both(hopefully). Cost effective is the goal thou, so getting it done would be relatively hard.

bartonmd has a great bumper at an awesome price along with radiator and oil pan skids.
When you run without that bumper cover you open the radiator to flying rocks etc.

I shot him a PM, Navigator. I never thought of that when I first removed the bumper. I'm feeling like an idiot now. :pale:

hahahahaha it just looks bad from that angle because you can see the inner pipe. I will have to change the tip eventually but I just did it for now for fun lol.

Also...it is no longer chrome, i added a custom paint job to it after it rained the other day. It's abstract mud design
