Sold (Again): The last 3" body lift

I could develop a kit that would upgrade the zone 2" kit into a 3" kit, but the cost would be around $200
Not sure how many guys would be willing to shell out the extra cash though..

What would the total cost for me be like if i were to want this?
Because my next paycheck was meant to be used to buy a 3" Body Lift Kit, and a set of Wheel Adapters.
Believe me, as long as it isn't over $600, I should be ok. The wife already approved it... lol

Bolting extensions to an already bolt on body lift sounds like a recipe for disaster. Would you plan to lose the rear trailer hitch completely? There isn't going to be much strength left in that, certainly not enough to keep the factory tow rating.

Also, what about the lift blocks/body bolts?

Swap blocks n bolts n bumper brackets.

I figured the steering extension had enough play you could keep it.
New blocks and bolts (some bolts might be able to be re_used)
Radiator is easy
live with the 1" gap on the bumpers
I would think the bumper brackets and steering extension would be the most expensive(hardest to source) parts of the kit.

What do you read that he is proposing? I do not see any explanation to what he is propsing to make the 2 go up to 3 but I do have the experience of having done the conversion with him. I know the almost total parts swap is what we did with my 2 inch Zone to 3 inch and I do not see him saying it will be any less.

He's proposed a $200ish conversion. Since the 3" body lift you have was around 350-450 when it was available, it's safe to assume major compromises would be made.

I would stay away from stacking blocks Mark. If the inner ribs of stacked blocks become misaligned there's a good chance the blocks could collapse.

If you're not going to make any profit off the conversion, I'd just post a list of parts/sources and save yourself a lot of hassle (and liability.)

In original testing (years ago) the 1" solid aluminum pucks combined with 2" spacers proved to work out just fine.. i think they are still in service to date..

i could post a how to guide i suppose..when/if i ever get time..

yeah, stacking blocks sounds sketchy as frack to me... if it held up fine, then I guess ok, but I wouldn't want to do it.

If you're gonna go through all the trouble to do longer bolts and add in spacers on top of other spacers why not just get the 3" spacer and proper bolts to begin with?
The bolt lengths and thread pitch is available on an old trailvoy post. The 3" x 3" lift pucks you can get at summit... there's plenty of ways around this.

If it's an issue of the steering extension and Mark really ain't makin them anymore I can post up the measurements of the one sitting on my shelf (if Mark don't care) and you can go get one made locally.

Cost of 12pcs 3x3 lift blocks is about $60 plus the bolts brings the cost up to $160..
Holding the price down is reason for 1" solid pucks.. that is no different than 3" pucks sitting on the solid frame....
guys have been stacking pucks for 20 years on mud trucks without issues..

if you have one extension laying around post the dimensions..
maybe someone can make them..

Solid aluminum puck with 2 inch standard poly block is just fine. The block has no forces different on it than sitting on solid frame.

The bolts mark sends are proper 10.9 grade.

After review, i would rather not error on safety and put something out there that would be unsafe..

The machine shop that makes the steering extension has agreed to produce more.
Only one problem.. he wants paid up front for machining 40pcs and the cost has doubled..

i could offer a group buy of 6 kits @$450 to raise the cash needed.. that would keep the 3" body lift alive..

need your thoughts and help promoting the group buy..
