Rear springs advise with Moog 81112 in the front

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Hey Guys

So I've read every Moog thread I could find in the search and haven't found much info on spring combo's with the Moog 81112's in the front. Most of the post's on 81112's seem fairly old and wanted to see if there is any new info out there. Unfortunately, I am flying to Florida in 3 weeks to pick up my new TB so don't know what the stock springs are. MarkMc has been helping me with some advise as I am buying his 2.5" kit and wheel spacers (super great guy, I'm seriously amazed at how helpful he has been). Mark recommended the 81112's as a good option for me to give a bit more stiffness and help with sag but not to stiff to cause problems with the upper mounts.
So my question is: Should I stick with my stock rear springs or is there a good upgrade to go with the 81112's? I'd like the TB to end up as level as possible but obviously don't want to be higher in the front. Thanks in advance for any input.
I'll also be adding new Bilstein Hd's in the front and skyjacker N8030's in the rear.

The 8112s are about .75" longer than stock and likely stiffer than the springs you will have. I would guess you would have about 1-1.5" of lift over the average 83s. I understand Mark's kits are usually level. If you add the 8112 to the front you will likely have reverse rake of an inch or so.

Thanks Chris!! Do you have a recommendation for a rear spring that can give me the 1 1.5" lift to adjust the rake?

My personal experience is that my Mark MC lift, gave me a wee bit of negative rake. That's with stock 83 springs, with the 8112's it will probably be worse. Unless you're not riding around with tools and jacks in the back like I am.

I actually have a set of Z71 springs to install to correct it.

Thanks Jr, that's helpful to know. It definitely seems like I will need new springs to get the back up a bit, probably 1 - 1 1/2" or so. I'm looking at the Moog 81069's and 81071's and trying to figure out which one will be a better match. Not sure if it's true, but read these might be a bit less stiff than the Z71's and I don't do any towing or carry much weight. It's also 15 minutes on bumpy dirt roads to get to my house so don't want to go to stiff.

why not just run the lift with your factory springs and be pretty much level?

Ya, maybe I should stick with stock. I was thinking I would get a bit better ride with the Moog springs, but should probably only do this if I can find a good solution for the rear.

I did already order the 81112's but won't be the end of the world if I need to sell or lose the $50

Mine is not level with factory springs. It's just a hair lower in the rear. It's bad when towing.

you might actually appreciate the softer factory springs on the bumpy dirt road to your place.

Thanks for the input Jason. Ya, I'm pretty confused at this point and not sure what to do. I'm leaning towards going with the Moog 80169's in the rear (Moog Z71 replacements) as it seems like this should get me close to level or just a bit higher in the rear. Worst case scenario, I can change them back to stock if I don't like it.
Anyone want to chime in if this seems like a decent idea. Thanks

If you tow at all, or ride around with any gear in the rear, I would take that route.

I think Mark and I came up with a good solution. I'm gonna do the following:
-81112's on front with new HD bilstein struts and the 2.5" kit spacers
-81069's on the rear with skyjacker N8030 and either a 1" or 2" spacer (will get both from Mark) to find the best level.
Hoping this will turn out to be a good set up. Will start a build thread next month to let everyone know how it goes.
Thanks for all the advise guys...appreciate it!
If anyone see's any major problem with this set up please feel free to chime in...still have a month before it goes in.

Anthony, yes they are the Moog springs. From the forums I have read they are the Z71 replacement spring. I bought them on Amazon but they are available at various places. I did find a forum that had the specs but can't find it now but you can probably find with some minimal searching. Yhey might be on this chart for Moog spring specs:
http://www.moogproblemsolver.com/moog/w ... s_Spec.pdf
There are two models that are similar 81071 and 81069. From what I have read MOOG 81069 is a heavy duty and MOOG 81071 is a standard duty spring. If I remember the specs I saw correctly, I think the 81069 has bout 1" more free height but spring rate is the same.

I have the moog Z71 spring's in rear, and moog 8114 spring's in front and marks 3" lift/ 2" rear spacers and ended up at 39" in rear and 37" in front with 265/70/R17 bfg's if that helps any I removed the rear spacers and it leveled out perfect 37"

I went with the 81112's and 81069 and ended up with a 1" rear spacer and 2.5" front. I'm really happy with the results and love the ride quality. Here she is:
