Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Almost ready to buy......

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

by oChaws » Fri Nov 06, 2015 7:21 pm

Hey all!! I have figured out what I am going to purchase lift wise! First off I want to be able to fit 33's and off road wheels. Anyway, after week of researching, I have come up with a list. I want to install the 2" BDS lift all the way around with the BDS 5500 shocks for the rear. But I wanna stack the 1" suspensionmaxx leveling spacers on that. I also want Z71 springs for the rear and blister HD struts up front. And that about wraps it up. Is there anything that would stop me from making all this fit and work? Is the 2" BDS spacers and the SMaxx spacer too much lift for our front ends? Just thought I'd post and ask specifically instead of hoping to find someone with this setup on here lol thanks for the help in advance!!!!!! :D

Welcome, why not get MarkMC 3" kit? What gears you got?

I would go with the 3" Liftmeister lift and stay away from the over prices 5500's. to fit the 33's you will likely have to do some trimming.

I was looking into the liftmiester lift and the website would not let me add to the cart and such. I read somewhere that it was not available at the moment? I guess I can try again because I am interested in it. And I need to look into my gears. Is there a code to look for in my glove box?

I'm okay with a little trimming if needed. And if not the 5500's, should I go with the Blistein rear shocks to match the front struts??

Screw that. No more power. Less MPG. Bigger size to make tight trails too tight. Less maneuverable.

Plus this thread is about a lift setup not what vehicle.

Looks like I have the 3.42's but I do have the G80 locker. So if I can figure out how to get my hands on the liftmeister 3" lift, I will and I'll go with blistein's on all corners and Z71 springs in the rear.

I agree, I've never had a vehicle with such a tight turning radius. I drive a full size every day. I'll gladly take my Bravada over any full size.

You should try the turning radius of a 1st gen s-10 2 door blazer. Amazing!

Why not a suspension lift? We are currently having an issue getting steering extensions for body lifts on our platform. For the record, I find the suspension lift to be a far superior way to raise our platform. As far as rear shocks, I'm fond of my Skyjacker N8030. They did get some external rust faster than I would have liked, but they are inexpensive and still work awesome.

I plan on the 3" suspension lift!! Just have to figure out wheels and tires now... I want 31's since I have 3.42's. But I want 10" wide. On American racing bajas lol

Don't do the stretched bro tire thing. Please... go 8 or maybe 9 wide so you don't pop beads or have crappy tire wear

Lmao good way to put it! I'm still not sure exactly what I'm gonna do with that. How wide do the wheels I buy need to be to fit 9's? Also, I have been looking for info on backspacing and all that and also bolt patter and I'm not having any luck...

Wheel spacers first. Then pick your wheels. I drove mine to a Discount Tire and they test fit a couple wheels for me. I'm not sure everyone gets that treatment, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

EDIT: Wheel adapters to the more common 6 on 5.5" will allow you 10x or more wheel options.

I do plan on the 6x5.5 adapter in 1.5". I want to put 16x8 American Racing Bajas with 4.5" backspacing with 245/75/16 BFG AT KO2's on them.

I just like more rubber than wheel and since my gears are 3.42's I want smaller than 17" wheels so more rubber is present cause I can't go bigger than 31" tires
