Surrender to Body Lift?

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Does anyone else have reservations about peeling apart a perfectly sound never damaged rust and rattle free low mileage always garaged 04 2wd LS EXT to install a 2" body lift?
No matter how many times I re-read the instructions, there's a leftover bolt on the shop floor of my mind. I fear new rattles, vibrations and electrical shorts.
I have zero experience with pre and post body lift vehicles. I only wanted to do a suspension mod.
The Zone instructions appear straightforward. There is little to relocate under the hood, but the bracket cutting to relocate bumpers looks tedious. Can tow hooks be reattached?
Looked at sample today - 2857017 BFG AT KO2s on 17x9 Fuel Beasts & spcrs will probably rub HARD on sheet metal of frt & rear of lwr front fenders with my current setup. (3"LM/87s.) . I know some members run 33s without body I don't wanna cut fender metal.
Add a 2" B Lift and go back to 83 springs & 3"LM and that wheelset is proper........maybe 305s?
Feel free to share opinions and experiences.

Happy Trails.......

I'm running the Zone 2" BL. It was pretty straightforward though it is a bit worrisome cutting your rear bumper supports.
The BL doesn't affect the tow hooks, I'm still running mine.
I did notice did a little play in the steering extension after I lifted mine. It was tight but there was still a little play.
I later gave it another 1/2 turn and it took all the play out.
If you go the Zone route, I think the instructions have you do the rear bumper before the body lift blocks. When I finished, it seemed to me if you do the the lift blocks before the rear bumper, you can reach one of the bumper bolts much better.

Even with a BL some folks have to trim metal. I haven't needed to yet, I just had to knock that one support bolt (on each side) a little more.

Personally, I would not lift a 2wd.

It scared me a bit to do mine, especially driving around with the bolts hand snug to get everything to settle properly. Would I do it again? Hell yea in a heart beat

I got 33s without a body lift and no fender trimming... ;) It can be done.

I would put a body lift on one before doing a suspension lift. If I ever talk the wife into an EXT it will likely only get a body lift and stronger springs to level.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.
