Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Do I need to change?

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Is there a need to change the shocks, struts, and springs when I lift my tb? I don't plan on hard trail riding. I don't tow anything and I'm only getting a brush guard for the front and rear. I'm going with marks 3" lift spacers and adaptors and I'm thinking of 265/70/17 tires can I leave the rest stock?

You can stay stock. I did it some times. But if you add rear lift spacer your stock rear shocks won't be enough long.

Ahhhhh ok gotcha I didn't even think about that...do the 07-12 z71 shocks give you enough length?

I have already multiple times thanks! just shows the bds and blistein shocks unless your hinting at that's what I need to use...and those part numbers from 2009 are hard to find...I called GM with the part number for the 87 springs and he didn't know what I was talking about or how to look up the new part number...yikes...

A lot of us run the skyjack rear shocks 8030 IIRC, check out my build. IMHO if your gonna pull everything apart might as well get new parts. At least struts and shocks. Look for the 87 springs on eBay or gmpartsdirect.com

i would think it all depends on how many miles you have on the current set up. Also how much your willing to spend. it's a perfect time to take care of issues while it's tore down.

Right now I've got the belltech 2/3 lowering kit on it that I've had since November of last year I've gotten into storm chasing here in Tulsa and am a skywarn storm spotter and am on the spotter network...lowered looks cool but for chasing is not ideal...my buddy is buying my lowering kit for his 06 tb so I can lift mine so it will be more useful.

You can keep the springs. Do you have the original struts and shocks? Mileage? I would swap the front struts if you're going to go through the trouble of taking it all apart. You could leave the rear shocks and see how it rides. If it bothers you then its only a couple bolts to change them out.

Does not the belltech 2/3 lowering kit have smaller front springs? Unless you still have your stock springs your going have to get new springs or swap with your buddy. Also if you add a the 2" rear spring spacer from Mark's kit to the rear with or with out the Z71 springs which BTW add about 1" of lift. You will top out the rear shocks because they will be to short for add spacer. Don't cheap out on you build. Read, plan, save, build. I highly suggest reading though a lot of build threads, a lot us put links to the parts we buy to help out others. Good luck.

The kit came with lowering springs for the rear along with their street performance shocks and a lowering strut that utilizes the factory springs up front I have no idea if the front springs I have ever been changed but I do know that I myself have put about 20000 on the stock ones I still have. I was thinking of going with the moog 07 tahoe 4wd reaplacment springs for the rear from rockauto I'd keep my front springs and put in the Blistein HD struts and Skyjacker shocks for the rear
