BDS 5500 shocks with stock rear coils

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Ok so my plan for part of my lift is the Skyjacker C25R's. I know it will give me 4 in of lift back there, and that I need longer shocks designed for the lifted tahoes. BDS has 2 different shocks listed for the Tahoes, (55719) 0-3 inches and (55759) 6 inches of lift. I am assuming that either will work because they both have longer extended lenghts. Im leaning towards the longer ones beacuse with 4 inches of lift the extra 3 inches of shock length shouldnt hurt (correct me if im wrong).

I really need to replace my current shocks now, they are bad, however, I cant lift the truck until May (family coming to visit and still need the 3rd row). The 55759 have a collapsed length of 17.59" where as the stocks have 15.42". So my question is, will the extra 2" of COLLAPSED length hurt me or the shock if they run with stock rear springs? And will they even be able to be installed or will the overall length not fit without the lift?

So nobody has any take on this? I was really hoping to order them soon but don't want to have to return them.

Wow I figured someone would have chimed in on this by now. I ran the Skyjacker N8030 and this was there lengths.

Collapsed Length: 15.69 in.
Extended Length: 26.57 in.

I can't see if actually hurting anything but I could be wrong.... I do have the shocks for sale if your interested.

Did you run those with stock springs or the skyjacker springs?

Well I've never done shocks before. Do you think that a shock with a collapsed length of 17.59 would fit with stock springs?

What's an extra 2 inches. I think they'll be fine.

As far as daily driver duties go, I don't think it'd be an issue either, you'd want to verify that it hits the bump stops before bottoming out the shock, but the odds are pretty low you would get that much compression without wheeling.

Having had both charged and non charged shocks in the rear I would have to say I prefer the charged shocks over the strictly hydraulic like the bds 5500 series, but there's plenty of guys that would argue otherwise.
