Lift question from the new girl

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

by BrittKitt » Wed Aug 29, 2012 6:08 pm

Hi guys I'm a noob needing help!

I have an Envoy and I recently added a brush guard to the front, for hitting deer runs in the family:P The front is lower than the back and the bottom of the brush guard scraps curbs and stuff. My cousin just gave me a front lift kit thing and I was wondering if I could add the lift to the front to make it level? It's a 2.5" lift. Is this possible?

Thanks (:

I am assuming the Liftmeitser. There is no text on the box just a sticker with the kit.

Yep. It is able to be used in separate pieces to properly level with your rear

You should take a picture of it just so we can confirm that it is a Liftmeitser kit. I must have missed your introduction...So welcome to the forum. Nice to have a girl here.

It could just be the way the pic is coming up on my phone, but that looks like the half inch front spacers and the rear lift blocks.

One last question guys, will I need to get the front end aligned after putting the lift on?

My uncle told me I would and I was just double checking with you gents.

Yes. Lifts affect everything about alignment.

Yea you will need the alignment. You will probably need an alignment a few times a year depending on how hard you offroad.

good advice for a newbie: If you can find a Firestone, buy thier lifetime alignment thingy. Saves alot of money in the long run.

Hey all,
I just did the MarkMC 3" suspension lift, and bigger tires myself. Now I need alignment. When I asked at Firestone, they said they wouldn't do their lifetime on anything that's been lifted at all. How do you guys generally go about this? Do you just not mention it to them, and they usually think it's stock....or did they change their policy recently?
Thanks for any advice,
~flap
