I've looked under my Envoy, and it looks to me like I have RF pink, and LF dark green, springs. I can't confirm with my RPO codes though. They don't match up with anything. Here's my RPO sticker. Any info you have about it would be appreciated.

EDIT: Posting RPO sticker. Any info about the springs you can provide is appreciated. Any other interesting facts you see about my truck would be cool to know as well.

TIA.

Help figuring out if I need to change Saab 05" 97x with front spring # 15108686 (with green sticker) .
Are these equivalent to the TB # 15125886? I think they might be shorter?...

Height from ground to front fender is 31". Wheel/ tire OEM is 255/55-18
I am going to install Marcs 3" strut spacers and want any additional lift if theres a difference.

Ok, so apparently the Saabs springs are lower, as this link shows a Saab changed to TB OEM springs (by accident) and it raised the height.

http://www.saabcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=334113&highlight=springs

So, I think I will be switching out to TB #15125887

That's also my understanding Tony, that Saab changed the springs to something shorter. Your part number doesn't equate to the 86 TB spring. From my experiences with the 87s, you should be happy with them.

Just figured I'd update my findings, I was able to successfully order a set of 88's from gmpartsdirect.com It took them 7 days to get a hold of them, but apparently are still obtainable.

Yeah, it looks like 83s.

I think 86s or 87s are a good compromise. Maybe 88s if you have a big old bumper and a winch. I was blowing up shocks even with a bumper and a winch with 89s and a 3" lift.

Oddly enough, with no bumper and 89s with washers on the 2.5"lift things seem to be alright. That half inch seems to be the breaking point in my experience.

The only problem with the 2.5"is there seems to be squeaking no matter what I do. The solution is liberally spraying lithium grease on it all.

In contrast the 3"lift seems to get some good wear on the bushings over a couple years, if you're not careful the shock shaft will wear into the lift spacer.

I briefly pursued pressing in a spherical bearing, but gave up before I decided to just get crazy and replace everything.

I still think replacing the bushings with a spherical bearing is the ideal solution... or radflos

No luck, all the numbers are in french!

Kidding, if you've got a short wheel base, I6, you've probably got the equivalent of 83s.

I had quite the journey trying to find out which springs came stock on my 2002 tb ls since I don't have the colored tags on mine any more, Many of the dealers I spoke with could only tell me my stock springs were rated 1,700 lb handling, and some other odd numbers they gave me, only one dealer Could come close to giving me the information I needed which was the part # of the spring that came on mine from the factory, the was they termed it is that the 884 spring would be the replacement, they said that would be the only spring they offer to replace the one that came stock on my vehicle... So I'm still not %100 sure which springs are on my tb, can anyone help me here? My vin # is 1GNDT13S022275183

It really doesn't matter, just choose one of the 87, 88 or 89. 89s tend to be too much for some installs. Others have had good luck. Just roll the dice my friend!

I know this was a half year ago, but for what it's worth, you have (or had??) 84's. If anyone else has a VIN and needs me to look up a part number for their springs, just let me know.

Alright, so I just looked at my RPO's and I've got '83s. I'm planning on having one of Mikes bumpers on within the next year and a half (graduation camping trip). If I've got Marks 3in spacer up front, what springs would you guys recommend to keep the heavy bumper from sagging without getting too much lift and tearing crap up? I don't know how much lift IS too much lift.. Right now I'm level, with no suspension mods except Marks kit. So I was thinking maybe 86s or 87s? 86s would add another .6in of strut lift, 87s would add .7in.

What about pairing something really stiff like '89s with Z71 springs in the rear? Would that be too much lift?
From what I just calculated, Putting 89s up front would add 1.06in of lift, and Z71s in the rear would add around 1.5in. So that gives me what... about 4in total lift up front and 3.5in total in the back. Half inch difference, so perfectly acceptable by me. (this is keeping my current lift spacers as well)

Is any of that good or bad? Am I way off on everything I'm saying..? lol  :?

I have 87s which gave me about 1" more of lift and they are pretty dang stiff. I have no other weight in the front too. My springs aren't really compressed, it just rides like a truck. I'd think you be okay running 87s, but I know a lot of guys with steel bumpers have 88s, which are cheaper than 87s. 89s might be too much.. Don't see many guys running them
