Having a big chunk of Irish blood myself, I can understand why you would claim that heritage over the others. :finger:

I have BDS spacers + Z71, so the spacer is on top. I did mine just like the BDS instructions. Unbolted the sway bar, control arms and shocks. Put the frame on jack stands and lowered the rear end enough to get everything out and made sure no lines were stretched too much. Locked the spacers in place, but there was about an inch too little room. I ended up just laying directly under the spring perch and literally bench pressing them into place. I could squeeze them just enough.




Oh, and my name is Murphy. I think I qualify as Irish also....

I knew of a dude named Murphy... He had this pessimistic view that anything that could go wrong, would, and at the worst possible moment.

I knew another dude named O'Toole, who said that Murphy was an optimist... Wonder what sort of day he was having. :lol:

I just installed the .75" rough country spacer on top of the z71 and 2" mark spacer, I ended up having a couple buddies stand on the bumper while i wrapped a bunch of bailing wire around the springs........ended up letting me lower the axle down enough (after disconnecting the shocks, sway bar, and brakes) to slide the spacer and springs in without having to compress or force anything.

Me? I'm thinking about fabbing up some shock extensions for the upper mounts.

Wont a shock extension only give you more droop, but less articulation upwards ?

Also need to realize and compensate for the new much higher spring rate. With your shocks now, your going to have about 1/2" of downward travel. To compress youl be fine, but then your rear will SLAM back down. I also had someone tell me that while i was taking a bend slightely faster than i was should have ( i have my reasons ) that one tire was off the ground. I thought he was lieing but what actually happened is as the body rolled, my rear axle was limited to how far it could travel downward, but had room to compress. As the bend went to the right, axle compressed driverside and lifted off on pass side. Just something else to think about. And that was only doing 50

I've definitely got more than an inch down of travel, It's at least several inches (I have BDS's right now)
and the shock extension might limit some of my upwards articulation (but so will the tire running into the wheel well..... and will definitely add to my droop.

Oh god no.....I could only imagine how bad my life would be if I still had stock shocks/struts.....lol
