Maxing front suspension lift (split from UCA discussion)

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

I hope everyone is aware of that. Also, I feel bad talking about all of this spacer speculation in a thread that was supposed to highlight our ability to reverse the UCAs. That idea is awesome, but hopefully it doesn't get dragged down by all of this negative lift info.

Out of what? I have an extra 44. Too bad you are not closer.

Looks like the CL ad is gone now... so it must be too. Was a front from an 84 Jeep Wagoneer, 61" length, driver side pumpkin. He wanted 200 for it...which is probably why it's gone already. :)

To answer your other Q... I haven't had any shimmy issues so far. I'm at about 3.5" of resting suspension lift. My first attempting gave me 4" but the CV angle was critical.

ried to move the motor when I turned the wheel by hand. No go.

You guys realize that the thickness of the spacer it self does not correlate to the amount of lift you will get....Right? A thinner spacer like a 3/8" will net about a 1/2"-5/8" on our truck. The strut is mounted closer to the pivot point on the lower control arm, so a little bit of movement there, is more exaggerated at the tire....

Sorry I wasn't clear... I called when I originally ordered and was told the shims were 1/2 inch... I'm aware of the way our suspension works like a lever.

For me, reversing the UCAs was a means to an end... that end being more front lift.

You know we have about 66 inches from mounting surface to mounting surface from what regulator measured for me. 61 would have been pretty narrow

Indeed....probably better that it went elsewhere.

My garage produced it... honestly, I forget where I got half the things that are clogging up my garage.

Well I'm going to be heading over to IKEA to get some polyethylene chopping boards (made from UHMW) tomorrow at 10am then on Tuesday I will have to cut off the BDS bolts that are welded and add some more longer ones roughly an inch or so longer then it will be time to add a .75" pieces of cutting board to the strut.

The boards I found were black and were 3/8" thick so two of them will be good for me. Oh and ill be putting these two pieces on top of the BDS kit and under the markmc spacer I already have.

Here's a pic of the chopping boards I got from IKEA today 3/8" thick. So I got 4 of them so I can start stacking these bad boys after I cut them to the size I want.
