Thanks Roadie, I pulled the shock in question and tried to use the parts one more time just to make sure that I didn't mess up and I was right they are the same size as the main piece thus will not fit over as they should. So I will just make a trip to home depot or ace and fab something up. Thanks for the help guys.

Mine were a slight interference fit,... just had to hammer it a bit.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for the help guys, between your tips and of course the Rodies pic I was able to piece basically the same st up together. I should be testing this weekend and will pose updates.

Has anyone tried the Skyjacker shocks? Rough Country hasn't responded to my requests, so I am guessing they have nothing that works for us any more. I have talked to Rancho and they no longer have anything for us.

Skyjacker has 2 models that fit our application, H7030 and N8030. They say they are good for lifts 2" to 3.5".

4Wheelparts is having a sale on them.

EDIT: Code didn't work

Well I now have the skyjacker N8030s on order. I guess I will see how they are, They are definitely less than the gas filled BDS shocks. $88.45 for both.

Those look like a good fit.

FWIW Rancho RS5274's should work for us as well... although Rancho may not realize that.

Or they just don't care about our small market. The Skyjackers should work up to a 3.5" lift according to their specs. Now you guys that have been running the other shocks would know better on how these feel. I figured since no one else said they have tried them I would give them a shot.

I hope I get all of my lift stuff in so I can try to get them installed before the 11th.

I found some info on some rear shocks for you guys by Bilstein and doetsch tech.
http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/BE56249H5.html

And for doetsch tech part number 3336 in the DT3000 and 8336 for the 8000 series are longer all around. And if they're too long or whatever I guess bumpstops are in order.

Well I have the Skyjackers installed and they feel pretty good. I don't have too much to compare to though since I just completed my lift and added the Z71s as well.

I have the Skyjacker N8030s. I need to get some 3/8" spacers as I have 13/16" overall gap to fill out in the bottom. I am getting ready to go get my front end alignment done so hopefully I will have pics later today.

Here are a couple of pics of the skyjackers installed.

The width of the bottom mount is only 1 11/16" and the original shocks are 2 1/2"

You will need to shim the bottom or your shock will move back and forth across the bolt. Same thing we did with the old Z71 shocks.

yeah like I said before posting the pics I need to get some 3/8" spacers in there to fill the gap to keep it from moving. I have to see what I can find to do that before too long.

Ah didn't see that. Looks like a skinnier version of the BDS. Are yours gas charged?

Yeah, they are gas charged. I paid about $82 for the pair and they come with boots, if you want to use them. They are made for a 1 - 4" lift. I figured I would try them since they came up on the radar to fit our trucks from 4wheelparts and a few people have had problems with BDS leaking a little.

So far the ride seems pretty good. I can't compare it to anything but the stock ride but I expected the ride to stiffen up some.
