LT275/65R17 on 17x9 Rim?

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

I noticed many of the sizes that have been posted are for a 17x8 rim size, what if I was going to go up to a 17x9? Here is what I am looking at and what I plan to do to the vehicle.

Lift:
Rear Z71 springs
DBS 2'' front and rear
Bilstein HDs all around, if I can.

Wheels:
Fuel D531 Hostage 17x9 4.5 backspace

Tires:
Heres the issue, getting the recommended clearance so that I don't have to modify anything else.
After looking at diameter charts it shows that if I go with BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO Tires
LT275/65R17/E RWL 26795 7.5 - 9.5 31.2 15 3195@80 so the overall diameter being 31.5 would I be ok because of the 4.5 backspace on the wheels and if that was ok will they stick out the sides too much?

These wheel/tire options are strickly because I was trying not to run spacers and I currently have a 16inch rim that doesn't look anything as good as the newer 17'' stock. Any opinion would be amazing or if there are other wheel option in black with 17x8 6/5 pattern

The tires will looked stretched and the edge of the rims will be very unprotected. I have 9 inch wide with 305 width tires and they create almost vertical sidewall. I would not go any skinnier with the tire on a 9. If i was doing it again, I would get 8 inch wide rims. Mine stick out a good ways, but i have the 1.3 inch spacers.

Basically 275's may fit the wheel but will be stretched, I hate that look and the risk of popping the bead, but it is your truck.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

For your reference, the stock wheels have a 7" rim width and 6" of backspacing.

So just remember that by going to a 9" rim with 4.5" of backspacing, your inner rim will be 1.5" further out, while your outer rim will be 3.5" further out than stock.

Ya thats bad news, I knew I was missing something when figuring this thing out, haha well I will just have to go with spacers. Many of you guys use them with no problems I don't know why im being so worried. My current set of wheels are the 16'' I noticed many of you guys have the 17" im assuming the width is the same on both pairs? Either way spacers it is! Thanks guys :excited:

Yes, as far as I know it's 7" rim width on both the 16" and 17"ers.
