Maxxis mudders coming soon

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

by SteveTB03 » Thu Jan 07, 2010 10:43 pm

Well guys I'm FINALLY getting 33" tires and the 1.3" wheelspacers and the .5" spacer for the front of my TB!!! :excited: :excited:

The tires im getting have maybe 75% tread left on them they are maxxis mudders M/T tires 285 75R16 which I'm picking up here in Vegas for 150$ for all four of them the wheel spacers will be here soon hopefully whenever they email me back so I can buy them (maybe I email them first to buy them IDK though :coffee: ) and I just paid for the .5" spacer tonight so that should be here soon also!!

My other tires are going to shit REAL fast now, so it was an excuse to buy newish ones that are not stock for my Xmas present to myself

I'll post pics up as soon as I get everything installed, And I will be taking before and after pics also of my TB now I just gotta wait.... :wallbash:

Sweet! But why an additional .5" spacers? It'll just make it so you have to trim more from the fenders... I'd personally (and I do) just grind the rear lugs and just use the 1.3 spacers.

I'm sure he means Mark's 0.5" thick outside-the-strut lift spacers, not wheel spacers. Gets an extra 3/4" of lift safely.

I had MAXXIS big horns for almost 3 years now, just replaced them and they still had a little tread left. I drove all the way to Florida and back to California with the only problem being a single flat caused by a very large nail. Hundreds of hours of offroad time and I never had a single problem that was caused by the tires.

Good choice.

I am happy with my Pro Comps. You should enjoy them.

they've always worked for me.

You'll have to keep those rotated every 3-4k miles, and halfway through, turn them on the wheels (directional tire, so they can be on the other side and wear the other shoulders)... A buddy of mine with a half ton had them, rotated them every 5-7k (when he changed oil per the OLM), and they still got cupped pretty badly... Lasted quite a while and gripped pretty well (other than snow/ice, like most MT tires without much siping, though I think it's sort of a hybrid AT/MT), but just got cupped (scalloped) pretty badly...

The reversing them on thw wheels is part of the reason I did not go with them actually, but with proper care and a watchfull eye, I have known some people that really liked them.

I have even heard of people running them backwards for a little bit to help keep the wear pattern good.
