265/70/16

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

Had anyone used 265/70/16 successfully without using spacers ? I have a 2002 Trailblazer LS with a 3 inch lift. I really don't want to use spacers at the current time

Did you check the tire chart?

I have and there was a question mark next to it. Some have had luck while others haven't.

IIRC 30.6" tire working depends on the tire tread design.
I personally don't see what all the resent hang ups with using the wheel spacers is about lately with the new members. There a proved safe mod. If I can do this and not blow all four wheels off. I think there a good option. ;) Beside I have never read of failure and I know many other members beat on there TB/Envoy much harder than I.

You will need spacers.
My current setup is a General Grabber AT2 245/70R17 coming in at 30.5" diameter, and 9.65" width, my specific tires are 8" tread width. I get less than 1/4" clearance from my ball joint, the tread height is just slightly above the ball joint level but the tread is just narrow enough to clear the edge.

Your tires in question, 265/70R16 come in at 30.61" diameter and 10.43" width. The diameter is okay, but the width will get you. If i added even just a half inch more tread width to my tire i would have severe contact.

Heres a visual, the tread height is just above level with the ball joint but the width allows it to clear. Image

It's not that I don't want spacers it's that I don't want a pissed off wife.

i found they forget about such things quickly. sell it as a " safety issue" and "i'm only thinking about you honey" they both worked quite well for me.

Hahahaha I actually found some Kuhmo AT 245/75R16 online that look promising. My rig had 170K so hopefully of there's a next time around I'll go bigger with spacers

Hopefully one day you guys will find out what you are missing out on.
The main thing is to get the family involved and on board then you can justify the expenses.
Also keep an eye on the classifieds here, you can save money and help a fellow member out.

Wow, I had no issues with the tire size when I had to get tires, even before getting the new rims.

I've thought a few times if I ever built another one I might would stick with a 2" level kit and try to find some 265/70/16 to run without spacers/adapters on stock wheels. With skids and an 8.6 g80 or no-slip in the rear that would be a pretty capable rig for what most do.

Haha, my wife told me I should lift the trailblazer when I was debating on whether I should or not.
